Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs) are a group of diseases that affect the lungs’ tissue and the interstitium. They are characterized by progressive scarring of the lung tissue, leading to breathing difficulties and possibly death. The most common type of ILD is pulmonary fibrosis, which causes scar-like tissue to replace normal lung tissue.
