DLCO stands for Diffusion Capacity of the Lungs for Carbon Monoxide. It is an important test that is performed to measure how well your lungs are functioning.

Diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (DLCO) is a test performed to know the level of diffusion of gas in alveolar spaces. It is a measurement of the exchange of gases in the lungs. The DLCO test is used to check for a number of lung diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary cancer, pneumonia, and tuberculosis.
